The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

"Only she knows what happened. Only I can make her speak."

Hi guys!
Today I'm writing about a book that I've read recently. It's a psychological thriller about a woman who stops talking by choice. From the beginning we're introduced to a woman named Alice who is a painter, and who is married to Gabriel, a famous photographer. And we're also introduced to a psychotherapist Theo and his wife Kristy. Theo is the person who applied for a job in the institution where Alice was being held for therapy. He wanted to be the one who would make her talk again so that she could tell what happened that fateful night when her husband was murdered.
Honestly, I have to say that I was at first skeptic about The Silent Patient. Like, I started reading it then made pauses non-stop because I'd get bored from all the details that author wrote about. But eventually I told myself that I have to finish it. There's no putting it off anymore. When you started, you sure are going to finish. And I'm not sorry. I loved it. And once you got to the twist of this book you'll be shocked. But not so shocked that you hate it.
New York Times bestselling author Blake Crouch said for this book that it's "destined to go down as one of the most shocking, mind-blowing twist in recent memory." And whoever has read this book has to agree with Mr. Crouch. This book is about the best kind of deception. Honestly, I can't much talk about said deception because it'd reveal the whole plot and who wants that!? One thing I can guarantee is that you won't understand the real story until you get to the last part of this book. But don't skip to that part immediately. It's better when you're left wondering what really happened. Trust me. My advice to you is that you read this book as soon as possible. Don't put it off. Grab your copy and start reading.

"You become increasingly comfortable with madness - and not just the madness of others, but your own. We're all crazy, I believe, just in different ways."

Synopsis:
"Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening her husband Gabriel returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face, and then never speaks another word.

Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety. The price of her art skyrockets, and she, the silent patient, is hidden away from the tabloids and spotlight at the Grove, a secure forensic unit in North London.

Theo Faber is a criminal psychotherapist who has waited a long time for the opportunity to work with Alicia. His determination to get her to talk and unravel the mystery of why she shot her husband takes him down a twisting path into his own motivations—a search for the truth that threatens to consume him....
